Ingredients:1/2cup milk chocolate chips
2 tbsp shortening
4 fresh strawberries with long best stems
In a double boiler, melt the chocolate and shortening, stirring occasionally until smooth. Holding them by the toothpicks, dip the strawberries into the chocolate mixture.Insert toothpicks into the tops of the strawberries.Turn the strawberries upside down and insert the toothpick and let it cool and serve.
Line a baking sheet with wax paper. In a microwave-safe glass bowl, microwave the chocolate, stopping and stirring every 30 seconds, until melted and smooth. Holding a strawberry by the stem end, dip it in the melted chocolate, letting the excess drip off, then transfer to the prepared baking sheet.Refrigerate the strawberries on the baking sheet until the chocolate is firm, at least 30 minutes.
