Reddy the customer who lodged a cheating complaint against the jewellery had purchased the stone-studded ornament about three years back. The customer had come to our shop for selling the ornament back to us and insisted on getting the same price at which he bought. However, as per our standard policy and prevailing market practice, when such items are bought back, we pay between 40 to 50% of stone value and full value of the gold and we explained the same to him. The customer, Reddy, raised a dispute about this and lodged a complaint with the police in which he alleged inferior quality of gold in the ornament leading to jewellery losing its sheen.
